The Chair of Economics, Energy and Sustainability is looking for Post-Doctoral Researchers. The successful candidate will be in- tegrated into a vibrant energy-related research environment at both the Faculty and the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne (EWI).
YOUR TASKS
» Economic Research related to energy and its role in the economy, ideally in one or more of the following areas: (1) Geoeconomics of Energy; (2) Energy and Growth in a 1.5°C world; (3) Economics of Sufficiency; (4) Regulatory Econo- mics of Decarbonisation
» Publication of research results in leading international jour- nals
» Participation in collaborative research activities, e.g. with EWI or the Faculty‘s Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute
» Mentoring of doctoral candidates and projects » Supervision of bachelor and master theses » Teaching: four hours per week (i.e., two hours per week is
one 90-minute course per semester) » Contributing to the administration of the Chair, in particu-
lar concerning the doctoral program
YOUR PROFILE
» Ambition to build a successful academic career » Doctoral degree in a related field (or close to completion) » First publication or invitation to revise&resubmit in an
international peer-reviewed journal » Excellent master‘s degree in economics or a related sub-
ject » Deep understanding of energy markets and institutions,
demonstrated by a relevant academic publication (e.g. working paper, article etc.)
» Prior teaching experience appreciated » Strong command of the English language required; Ger-
man language skills considered an advantage

The position is available at the earliest possible date on a full- time basis (39,83 hours per week). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.12.2025. If the necessary prerequisites required by tariff regulations as well as the sought after perso- nal qualifications are met, the salary will correspond to the pay grade 13 as specified in the States’ Tariff Agreement (TVL).
