for an
Engineering Director
to Lead our global connectivity systems & application software engineering organization. Connectivity systems encompass all of Lear’s cellular telecommunication units (TCUs), V2X modules, and gateway/gateway domain control modules. Reporting to the Global Vice President for Systems and Software Engineering and located from our European HQ in Oberding (Munich) the Engineering Director will assume
responsibility for engineering teams in Germany, Shanghai and Pune.
The position will partner closely with counterparts responsible for connectivity hardware engineering, connectivity platform software engineering and innovation, and connectivity product management to acquire and execute customer projects and to further advance Lear’s reference platforms across the connectivity domain.
Additional responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)
- Partnering with regional sales, program management and engineering project management teams to evaluate automotive OEM’s technical requirements and quoting on innovative connectivity solutions based on Lear’s connectivity roadmap.
- Partnering with Lear’s global engineering teams to enhance Lear’s global connectivity reference platforms, including both microprocessor/Linux-based solutions and microcontroller/AutoSAR-based solutions.
- Ensuring that all global connectivity system development projects are executed on-time, on-budget, and according to Lear’s global system and software engineering process, quality, functional safety and cybersecurity standards.
- Building and establishing collaboration and partnerships with key engineering services and software component suppliers across the connectivity domain.
- Achieving and maintaining ASPICE Level 3 certification in all development projects.
To be a success in this role you will need
- 10 years of experience in the development of automotive embedded systems including experience in connectivity systems.
- 5+ years of experience in a Director (or reciprocal) level position with responsibility for multiple departments, engineering disciplines and/or product lines
- Track record of success in delivering complex automotive OEM system and software projects on-time, on-budget, and according to customer requirements
- Experience in leading an organization to achieve compliance to ASPICE and ISO26262 standards
- Technical know-how/experience in cellular connectivity and/or central gateways preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree Electrical or Computer Engineering required. S.E. and MBA preferred.
- Fluency in English and German
