Intern Embedded Software Engineering Intern, Summer 2020 in Regensburg

This Embedded Software Intern will work with a group of other software engineers to define test strategies, develop test specifications, execute test plans, and document test results related to low-level SW for both Transmission Control and Drivetrain Control projects, focusing primarily on current development projects intended to support upcoming production vehicle platforms.

Also, you will have an opportunity to develop applications & scripts to assist in provisioning boards with security keys (with applicability towards both prototype samples in the development phase as well as mass production manufacturing).

Core responsibilities and Task:

• Develop test tools, programs, and/or scripts
• Use CAN communication tools
• Understand flashing of control modules during manufacturing / operations process
• Study OSEK concepts and operations, low-level (base) software design and implementation. In addition, study software unit, integration, and regression test strategies.

Support development of unit test strategies

• Develop unit test specifications
• Perform unit testing and generate comprehensive summary reports
• Develop application/scripts for HSM Key provisioning of boards – to be integrated into production processes.
• Understand Software Specifications and support implementation of those specifications into applications.
• Advance Testing Capabilities and Test Coverage within projects. Execute SW Unit Testing for development projects.
• Write/Assemble comprehensive SW Unit Test reports. Also assist in software or test-related tasks.
• Ability to use lab equipment to debug software and to test specifications.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in a US accredited degree program
• Must maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8
• Must be currently enrolled majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to use Continental Configuration Management tools.
