Manager Packaging Sustainability Polymer Science - (R&D)

You’ll develop new, more sustainable products and technologies. You’ll take customer insights and work with experts from different teams to lead research and development projects. Ultimately, you’ll help us create new products. Products that solve real problems and improve the lives of millions of people globally.

You’ll succeed because…
You understand the need of using plastics, their properties and benefits they bring to our products, supply chains and consumers. Your experience in plastic processing gives you the advantage to develop new and greener solutions. You have a solid background in polymer science with experience in key packaging materials. Furthermore because of your chemical/ engineering roots, you know which factors play a crucial role in defining material characterization and required level of specification to satisfy our converters with easy to process materials but also overdriving material science with new substitutions. You will be launching new, more sustainable recycled grades and circular plastics which still maintain consumer preference.

The skills you have are:

• In depth knowledge and background in petrochemical industry/ mechanical recycling processes/ polymer processing and conversion (blow moulding, injection moulding, thermoforming, film casting and extrusion). In particular for Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
• Experience on at least one of the following areas: bio-plastics (derived, degradable, compostable), chemical/ feedstock recycling (ex. pyrolysis), modern mechanical recycling and waste sorting, petrochemical technical groups.
• Knowledge of sustainable solutions for circular plastics such as bio/ renewable resourced plastics, bio-degradable and chemically recycled resins.
• Knowledge of the relevant regulations, directives, guidelines and standards relevant to polymer resins and plastic packaging.
• Knowledge of circular economy with its all participants and their roles across the globe (collection, sorting, recycling, re-processing, NGO’s).
• Creativity, knowledge and experience to identify practical opportunities for more sustainable solutions and replacements through leveraging polymer science.
• Ability to transform polymer science platforms into viable business propositions.
• Hands-on project management with full ownership to deliver workable on cost target products.
