Senior Market Risk Analyst - Energy/Commodities

My Clients who are a large energy company in Dusseldorf are looking to hire a Market Risk analyst to join their growing team in an international environment.

In this role you will:

• Be Market risk manager of Power portfolios and assets, Physical Coal, Biomass & Freight desk: understand in depth portfolio risk drivers, institute appropriate risk governance and monitor portfolio risks and PnL development against the set limits.
• Contribute towards holistic risk awareness and the promotion of risk management on the trading floors as well as across the wider business.
• Commercially support and challenge Uniper’s commercial areas with analysis on hedging/trading strategies, investment decisions or new product implementation. Provide comprehensive quantitative and qualitative descriptions of risk/return potentials.
• Conduct scenario analysis and simulation by actively collaborating with the quantitative team to further develop methods for risk assessment in portfolio.
• Represent and present the managed portfolio to senior stakeholders.
• Understand front to end processes and work effectively across all levels of the organization to challenge, promote dialogue and drive cooperation.

Ideally you will have/be:

• Experience in risk-managing or optimizing a portfolio composed by physical commodity trading & freight, non-linear optimization and origination activities, ideally 5-10 years.
• Broad knowledge of Electricity, Global Coal, Dry-Bulk Freight markets
• Commercially oriented individual with high strategic thinking capability. Ability to engage in balanced, independent and strong relationship with commercial teams
• Strong focus on data management, accuracy of information and attention to details
• Familiar with option theory, stochastic processes, and risk metrics; able to manage interface to quantitative methods teams
• Strong team player with experience of working in an international and multicultural team
