Senior Application Development Engineer (m/f/d) Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants (CAS) Position Summary:
In this role you will be responsible for the technical support of customers, with claims, technical solutions and the translation of CTQs, within our Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants (CAS) segment, especially Protective- and Automotive Coatings. Close collaboration with Technology, Commercial and Marketing globally is essential for this role. In addition, you will support various prototype developments. You will be recognized as technical expert and become a learning and support resource globally

your responsibilities:

• prepare customer presentations / presentation of coating applications at industrial fairs * work closely with internal interfaces to identify new business opportunities to drive growth for the protective and automotive coatings segments * support new product introductions including formulation development, identification of new applications, product positioning and creation of technical literature * support technology in securing ip for selected new products and applications and providing critical inputs to our strategy * train global ades, new employees, customers, distributors and agents * generate ideas for npis as well as for new prototypes addressing market trends and specific customer needs * coordinate the preparation of prototype kits, product training for all sub-regions * support/coordinate the prototype development and the provision of samples * write abstracts for the introduction of prototypes and contents of new ips in close cooperation with the technology * monitor market and trends with regard to ingredients, understand and address global mega trends including regulatory trends your qualification:
• master degree in chemistry, major in polymers science, silane, silicone * long term experience in a product development function and/or in technical customer support within the coating industry * proven ability to prioritize and concurrently manage multiple projects as well as to work in an environment of cross-functional teams * several years of experience in building sustainable customer and business relationships * strong customer orientation and high problem-solving skills * high creativity, independence and technical affinity * outspoken team player, strong social and intercultural skills * excellent communication skills in english * proficiency in ms office, sap * travel requirements:
