In the Central Bosch Research Department we are working on developing autonomous systems and robots for different use cases. In the group Applied Robotics Off-Road and Off-Shore we are testing different SLAM Systems (simultaneous Localization and Mapping) on a mobile robot platform for off-road use in unstructured environments, such as construction sites and agriculture

in your thesis you will be answering the question how an understanding of its surroundings can improve the localization functionality of a mobile robot. * implement holistically:

building on first results with neural networks in this area, it is your task to take a closer look at object detection and scene understanding in the construction domain. this comprises already recorded camera and lidar data as well as your own data acquisition. * take responsibility:

furthermore the integration in an existing slam system will be part of your task, as well as evaluating your concept on real data. qualifications * education:

master studies in the field of computer science, mathematics, mechatronics, engineering or similar * character:

curious personality with creative ideas, who enjoys realizing new ideas * working practice:

structured and independent * experience:
experienced in machine learning algorithms, in addition some first experience in object detection as well as with tensorflow, pytorch or similar * knowledge:

competent handling in programming with python (c++ desirable), knowledge in the field of mobile robots and autonomous systems additional information start:
