YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES "Digital transformation of the core" is an essential pillar of the Bayer Pharmaceuticals' strategy. With this strategy, we accelerate our data science and technology capabilities across the value chain to improve outcomes and productivity. To do so, we decouple core data assets from light-weight agile software products that consume and generate data. It is the purpose of this role to contribute to the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of the Data Assets of Bayer Pharmaceuticals. We define Data Assets as data sources with a high value potential from re-use across the value chain. Data Assets are data products that provide programmatic access to these sources for data scientists and computer systems. * Design, create and maintain a clearly differentiating data asset portfolio as a key element of delivering Bayer Pharma's digital strategy * Define the data product vision, scope and the development roadmap/product backlog to drive implementation of Bayer Pharma objectives and strategy * Lead multi-functional engineering team, including external partners and manage resources to ensure on-time delivery in agile methodology * Develop comprehensive requirement specifications that will be used to estimate cost, time and resources to develop data products (product P&L accountable) * Liaise with relevant stakeholders during the product lifecycle, e. G. define, prioritize and accept user stories in the backlog as functional leader of the product development team * Highlight/identify and address gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with stakeholders tightly cooperating with the technology leaders * Ensure the availability of required funding, capabilities, resources and skill sets for the success of the product * Create new thought leadership content around the underlying data assets for our blog, white papers, conferences, etc. WHO YOU ARE * University degree (M. Sc.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or in a related discipline, MBA or comparable business qualification welcome * Long-term experience in agile engineering management, building and leading diverse, highly talented teams and contractors * Proven leadership skills with IT teams in life sciences, with business understanding in Pharmaceutical industry (research, development, safety, medical, product manufacturing and supply, marketing, sales) * Several years of experience in agile software development teams and shipping software-based products or services * Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to grow relationships with key partners and suppliers * Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations using critical thinking skills and be decisive while working cooperatively with others as well as strong analytic and quantitative analysis skills * Experience with modern engineering technologies and data principles, for instance:
