Position Overview:

As part of the Research and Development (R&D) Procurement Category Team, the Procurement Specialist will play a supporting role in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, category management, supplier relationship and contract management, risk & compliance management and stakeholder management. Located at one of the Animal Health sites in Germany, the Procurement Specialist will take a lead role in procurement projects in the categories lab supplies, chemicals and Equipment, Animals & Supplies, Contract research Organizations (CROs) and Laboratory services categories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participation in cross functional strategic sourcing and standardization projects (supporting market intelligence and analysis, competitive sourcing events, cost analyses, strategic analyses and due diligence/compliance assessments)
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Responsible for creating pre-negotiation plans, carry out project and contract negotiations with suppliers and to implement strategies including finalization of the contract. • Proactive Cost Management: Development, negotiation and implementation of cost savings projects.
  • Develop & sustain Supplier Relationship Management Programs to monitor, report, manage and continuously improve supplier performance, including some supplier visits, regular business review meetings and developing key performance indicators.
  • Health R&D Procurementcategories; develop a supportasProcurementexpert in cross-functionalteams
  • Support theProcure-to-Payprocess atthelocalsite in Schwabenheim, Germany and Boxmeer, theNetherlands

Education:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degreeorequivalent, preferably in engineering, scienceorbusiness

Required Experience and Skills:

  • At least three (3) yearsofworkexperience in
