For our client, a global semiconductor company we are looking for a IC Layout Engineer on a freelance basis (f/m/d)
Project start: 3.02.2020
Project duration: 3 months +
Location: Munich
Languages: English. German is not needed

Tasks:
  • Direct, guide and participate in activities of a research or technical layout function responsible for the electronic parts, components and integrated circuits.
  • Working in close collaboration with product development, process technology and packaging.
  • Balancing innovation with execution – to ensure that the IPs are demonstrated in silicon in a timely manner.
  • Enable technology transfer and productization of the innovative IPs into respective product lines.
  • Establish and lead University research projects in the relevant area of power management.
  • IC layout mentoring peers and colleagues.
  • Competitive benchmarking and tracking latest research in the domain of innovative power management architecture and circuits.
 

 Qualification:
  • 5y+ analog layout experience in planar bipolar CMOS processes like SPTx, BCDx or LBCx 28-180nm
  • Layout techniques for current mirrors, differential pairs, resistor dividers etc.
  • Knowledge in isolation strategies using triple NWELL, DeepN, N-Buried and Deep Trench
  • Hands on layout and responsibility for bandgaps, comparators, DACs, LDOs
  • Deep understanding of power blocks like DCDC converters, techniques for power fets and optimized current density
  • Use of EAD facing challenges in parasitics and working with constraints
  • Toolset Virtuoso Layout XL, Assura, DesignSync – knowledge about routing tools like VSR is a plus
  • Fluent in English
