Our client, a large player in the microchip devices industry, is currently searching for
Software and Hardware Engineer (m/f/d).
This position is labour leasing (ANÜ). The start date is mid-September, 80% onsite – Feldkirchen / 20% remote.
 

In this role, you will:

  • contribute to the success of the software projects running in the lab
  • participate in implementing test and demo setups involving the latest and upcoming hardware and software stacks
  • participate in the analysis, configuration, and tuning of the stack components for maximum performance
  • to participate in new software development projects.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving, setting up and maintaining compute and communication equipment
  • Maintaining clean, safe, efficient lab work environment
  • Dispatching the lab projects across the lab space and workstations
  • Supporting test and demo setups
  • Participating in the analysis, configuration, and tuning of setup components
  • Assembling, testing, and shipping hardware and software setups for the customers
　

Must-have skills:

  • Hardware skills:
  • Assembling, maintaining, upgrading PC and Server systems and/or Embedded systems
  • Maintaining networking and wireless communication equipment
  • Setting up wired and wireless networking environments with ~10s clients
  • Linux skills:
  • Installation and customizing OS to hardware needs
  • Knowledge about software, drivers and firmware handling.
  • Shell scripting
  • Experience with Linux programming, in particular with GNU tools
  • Software skills:
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Knowledge of SQL Databases, e.g. PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with Web stacks, MEAN or LAMP
  • Good verbal and written English skills
 

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Programming and scripting languages: Java, Scala, Python Docker or other containerization technologies
  • Container Orchestration, e.g. via Kubernetes
  • Big Data, e.g. via Hadoop/HBase
  • Analytics frameworks e.g. Spark or Gearpump
  • German or French language
 
 
This role requires good verbal and written communication skills in English.
The position involves working in an IT lab environment; the ability to move equipment around is necessary. A candidate who’s highly motivated to learn, shows initiative, takes responsibility, and enjoys working in an international environment will best fit the working climate.
