About Our 2020 Summer Internship Program
The Alcami Summer Intern Program is a paid 10-week program from June 1 – August 7, 2020. Alcami interns are provided hands-on work experience building upon knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Interns work side-by-side industry leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment who are passionate about being part of a team developing life-saving drugs around the world. The program concludes with individual presentations to Alcami leaders.

Position Summary
The 2020 Summer Intern-Process Engineer will be responsible for completing all on-boarding activities and providing feedback for process improvements. The intern will be trained on proper laboratory techniques and documentation in an GMP environment. The intern will maintain laboratory facilities, including organization of sample, disposal of laboratory waste, and 5s organizational activities. All interns will be trained on laboratory safety, are expected to maintain safety standards, and are to report safety observations according to company policy. In addition, the intern will be responsible for the following:

  • Provides technical assistance for process transfer and validation efforts for assigned manufacturing
  • Composes process validation, cleaning validation, or process optimization protocols
  • Writes Master Batch Records with a strong understanding of (equipment, critical process parameters, in-process tests, etc.)
  • Monitors manufacturing processes during initial production run to assess any technical process issues
  • Writes protocols and reports needed to support investigations, process changes and equipment modifications
Education and Requirements
  • Enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology with a Chemistry Minor or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
  • Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.
  • Awareness or prior work experience in a GMP environment preferred.

What to Expect
Candidates who are invited to interview will be contacted by Alcami Global Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone interview with a member of the Global Talent Acquisition team. Candidates who are invited to progress in the interview process will be scheduled for a onsite face-to-face or a virtual, video WebEx interview with hiring managers. During the interview you will be asked questions about your scientific and technical knowledge as well as behavioral-based questions.
