MY CHALLENGES – IMPRESSIVE

In this role you will act as a single point of service contact for our Data Centre Services in terms of hardware installation and DC planning from initial request to final completion. The daily tasks will include the following.

These are the main tasks:
  • Manage all installation and DC planning activities within your area of responsibility
  • Sustainably management of the workload of the HWI & P team
  • Liasing with planners and installers to ensure that the requirements database is maintained accurately
  • Assignment of complete requirements to the HWI&P team
  • Performing progress chasing on requirements with both customers and planners to ensure that an accurate status is maintained
  • Coordination with the Data Centre Analysts with regard to assets being installed and decommissioned (generally by ensuring that HWMP forms are received with requirements and passed on if necessary)
  • Management of change and problem records assigned to the team
  • Acting as single point of contact for queries from Security related to deliveries
  • Dealing with all other upcoming tasks including resolution of queries not related to requirements
  • Reviewing Requirements received for completeness, and dealing promptly with any queries with the originator, and ensuring that responses are obtained
  • Deal with all mail coming into the Task ID within the agreed SLA
  • Liasing with HWIP Team where necessary for quotations, surveys and work prioritisation
  • Escalating any urgent situations to the Data Centre Operations Manager for the Data Centre concerned
  • Attending the weekly requirements meeting, taking minutes including any actions required
  • Updating the requirements database following the Monday meeting on behalf of the planners and installers with any relevant information (planned completion dates etc)
  • Ensuring that documentation regarding requirements is filed accurately
  • Producing reporting from the Database for the Data Centre Operations Managers
  • Reconciling billing spreadsheets against requirements
  • Raising the 'daily change' for specified Data Dentres
  • Receipt and distribution of reports from the CCM team relating to expected deliveries

MY QUALIFICATIONS - WANTED!

  • Completed technical vocational training
  • Experience in a similar role with focus on hardware installation and decommissioning
  • Industry knowledge in critical environment and/or Data Center environments and one or more of the following: electronics / M&E, facilities management, projects, building services
  • Dealing with a range of people from junior to senior level including site employees, suppliers and customers
  • High level of computer literacy (Excel spreadsheets, lotus notes, databases, teamrooms, etc.)
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Affinity to work within a matrix organisation
  • Ability to understand commercial and financial metrics
  • Enthused by a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Conscious and methodical in approach
  • High degree of integrity and sincerity / Ability to inspire confidence
