Subject: Transformation and persistence of effluent organic matter during wastewater ozonation.
working time 65% (25,35 hours per week), limited to 3 yearsYour tasks:
- Ozonation of organic molecules from wastewater samples and analysis with ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS).
- Conducting column-based biodegradation experiments.
- Application of stable isotope labelling methods.
- Development of an automated detection method to identify labelled molecules in FT-ICR MS data.
- Independent evaluation of large MS data sets.
- Writing of publications for international scientific journals.
- Close collaboration with project partners from TU Munich.
- Participation in the HIGRADE graduate school, workshops and (inter-)national conferences.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or related natural sciences.
- Strong background in analytical chemistry, chemometrics/statistics and programming (R, Python, Matlab).
- Skills in organic (ultra-) high resolution mass spectrometry are highly desirable.
- Very good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and motivated to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to solution-oriented interdisciplinary research, learning, networking, and career development are mandatory for our new team members.
