Science Communication and Public Affairs Expert

your responsibilities:

• Communication about the impact of photonics and quantum technologies towards policymakers, industry and the public using a variety of communication channels, incl. social media
• Creation and publication of content in collaboration with external partners in text, image and video form
• Follow new trends in research and innovation and their application perspectives
• Support the development and implementation of a community based on EU Research and Innovation Strategy
• Foster “community building” between industrial and academic stakeholders
• Support C-level management boards of the EU initiatives “Photonics21” and “European Quantum Flagship”
• Prepare and implement open and transparent community strategy and road-mapping processes

Our expectations:

• University degree in science or communications, preferably with working experience in science communication
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, ideally native or near-to-native speaker, German fluently (minimum C-level in both languages required)
• Experience in communicating through digital communication channels (social media, website)
• Strategic thinker with motivation to develop new ideas and to think outside the box
• Strong communicator who enjoys working in a European environment
• Experience in the EU Framework Programme is seen as a plus
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is seen as a plus
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to present complex issues in a concise and understandable manner
• A real team-player
• Willingness to travel regularly within Europe
