Senior Technical Underwriting Assistant
for MR F&C Operations

Munich , GermanyMunich Re Facultative & Corporate (MR F&C) is responsible for all our business written as facultative reinsurance or direct. In your role as Senior Underwriting Assistant you will be responsible for coordinating the UA workflow on a daily basis, to support the further development of the service offering in participating in project work, assist in the training of new colleagues and backing the management at the interface to the underwriting teams. In addition you provide the usual technical and administrative support to the underwriters of MR F&C. The job is based in Munich.
Your job
- Facilitating the daily workflow of F&C tasks to and from the underwriting assistants across lines of business
- Continuous focus on improving processes and methods including specific project work in this respect
- Maintaining the interface to underwriting units in order to spot changes in service needs and to ascertain information and knowhow transfer
- Support in and further develop the management of the data quality in our systems in collaboration with F&C Analytics, Corporate Underwriting and Accounting
- Ensuring proper training of new employees and achieving a homogeneous skills and competences level across the team
- Collaboration and substitution within the global framework of MunichRe
- Support of the underwriters with new business and renewals along the underwriting process including the administration of risks in the systems, creation and verification of contract documents, and the accounting of risks, E-filing risk information and contract information,
- Support the underwriting units in the collaboration with Accounting and Reinsurance Controlling
- Apprenticeship in insurance and/ or finance, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Several years of cross line experience desirable
- Detailed knowledge of technical principles of facultative/direct underwriting including facilities, procedures and systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent command of German and English
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and innovate
- Analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong team player with personal integrity and highly developed soft skills, especially strong communication, networking and intercultural skills
