Subject: Advanced computational investigation of ionic compounds in a toxicological setting
Project start: 1st February 2020. Working time 65% (25,35 hours per week), limited to 3 years.Your tasks:
This project aims at systematic chemical impact assessment of selected neutral and ionic substances by mining huge and complex amounts of chemical and biological data. The tasks are:- Develop deep learning (DL) approaches for ionic compounds, and investigate their potential to support chemical risk assessment,
- Mulit-omics data analysis and integration to investigate molecular responses in a concerted way,
- Address the One Health Perspective by inferring cross-species knowledge with advanced bioinformatics, e.g. comparative genomics
Your profile:
- Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Chemo-informatics, Physics, or Applied Mathematics
- Knowledge and expertise in next generation sequencing data analysis is desirable
- Strong background in statistics and R-based statistical computing
- Experience in programming in at least one of the languages Python, R, C, C++, Perl
- Experience in machine learning is desirable
- Experience in chemo-informatics is desirable
- Ability to work independently and motivated to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent English skills in speech and writing
