Project start: 1st February 2020. Working time 65% (25,35 hours per week), limited to 3 years.

Your tasks:

This project aims at systematic chemical impact assessment of selected neutral and ionic substances by mining huge and complex amounts of chemical and biological data. The tasks are:

  • Develop deep learning (DL) approaches for ionic compounds, and investigate their potential to support chemical risk assessment,
  • Mulit-omics data analysis and integration to investigate molecular responses in a concerted way,
  • Address the One Health Perspective by inferring cross-species knowledge with advanced bioinformatics, e.g. comparative genomics
The project combines innovative data science methods with basic chemo- and advanced bioinformatics strategies.

Your profile:

  • Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Chemo-informatics, Physics, or Applied Mathematics
  • Knowledge and expertise in next generation sequencing data analysis is desirable
  • Strong background in statistics and R-based statistical computing
  • Experience in programming in at least one of the languages Python, R, C, C++, Perl
  • Experience in machine learning is desirable
  • Experience in chemo-informatics is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and motivated to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent English skills in speech and writing

We offer:
