Language Technologies Expert
We are looking for a Language Technologies Expert for an immediate start, or as soon as possible. This position is a permanent-full-time – office-based position for one of our clients, an independent language service provider for as long as 40 years of success in the market. Ideally, you should be able to commute to the head office based in Cologne or branch in Berlin. Also, strong remote-based applicants will be considered, including the option for relocation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Comprehensive support from our internal and external teams in technical issues and in the implementation of tailor-made solutions
- Conception and implementation of customer-specific processes and workflows
- Close cooperation with project management in the implementation of document definitions / file types
- Analysis, classification and processing incoming inquiries
- Creation and maintenance of system documentation in SharePoint
- Independent and conceptual work
- Active participation in IT projects, for example in Machine Translation (MT)
- Advanced practical knowledge and application of machine translation
- A 3rd level qualification, preferably in a technical or linguistic discipline
- Proven ability to analyse program output and recommend further actions
- Experience working in a successful commercial environment
- Established technical and linguistic acumen
- Proven ability to work within matrixed team structures
- Self-motivated & Customer-focused
- Able to work well in teams & an excellent communicator
- Interested in language technology
- Completed training or comparable qualification in the field of linguistics, computational linguistics, software localization or information science and Speech technology
- Ideally, first, work experience in the Translation and/or localization industry
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Technical and methodological knowledge of one of the following CAT tools or translation management systems: Across Language Server, Kilgray memoQ, SDL Trados Studio or Star Transit NXT
- Excellent communication skills as well as Service orientation
- Very good German and English communication skills
