Charging needs to be simple and easy to use, therefore we focus on digitized and customer-oriented services. We develop white label public charging solutions for automotive OEMs and fleet operators. These services provide access to multiple networks of Charging Point Operations (CPO) and enable drivers of electric vehicles to find, use and pay for public charging in an easy and seamless way.

Since the beginning of 2019, Digital Charging Solutions GmbH has been part of the mobility joint venture between the BMW Group and Daimler AG. CHARGE NOW is a service of DCS and part of this joint venture, which aims to strengthen sustainable mobility worldwide together with the other verticals REACH NOW, FREE NOW, PARK NOW and SHARE NOW.

Your mission

In this position as part of the IT Team you will be responsible for the general architecture of our product platform:

• Shape the DCS software architecture (create target picture, design & architecture patterns, technology stack...)
• Analyze existing architecture & future readiness of our platform (ongoing quality control, reviews…)
• Define general cloud architecture
• Design standards & architecture rules for our component teams (coding conventions, best practices…) and align them across all teams
• Support the design of testing & monitoring to ensure architectural requirements
• Regularly meet with stakeholders to systematically support development teams

Your profile

• University degree in computer science, technical education in IT, or equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in the IT industry
• Previous experience in a similar position
• Solid skills in software development (e.g. Java, Restful APIs..) & scripting languages (Python, Ruby, BASH)
• Profound experience with cloud providers (Azure, AWS..) and container technologies (e.g. Docker)
• Experience with CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, Travis, TeamCity…)
• Solid communication skills, an agile mindset & the ability to work independently as well as team-oriented
• Proficiency in English and German
