Currently seeking a Commissioning Manager to join a Main Contractor engaged on a Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt. In this role, the successful Commissioning Manager will lead all Commissioning activity on site, working closely with client representatives from this major Blue-Chip client, the site team and various subcontractors.The company is going through a period of fast growth in order to meet the demands of the market and, as such, is providing some really interesting progression opportunities. Great option for an experienced Commissioning Manager to take control of a major Data Centre build in the very early stages of the project. If travelling from other locations in Europe, the successful candidate will have to be able to work on 10 days on, 4 days off rotation and they will be looking for someone to start in August of 2020.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Management of all commissioning responsibilities on site. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project.
- Management of direct reports (commissioning and testing personnel on site).
- Management of the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures.
- Reporting Progress on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally.
- Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities.
- Chairing daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning.
- Development of the Project commissioning schedule in conjunction with the project planners.
- Management of Area Control Permits for all areas under control (Primarily Electrical Switch rooms) to ensure that all areas are restricted and controlled.
- Responsible for the Compilation of all Testing and Commissioning Documentation including verifying and signing off on all results.
- Familiarity with and management of Project Commissioning Schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineer and Client requirements.
- Management of all day to day on site commissioning operations
- Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly meeting with sub-contractor.
Requirements
- 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role, leading Commissioning activities on major M&E projects
- Ideally some experience in the Data Centre market
- Engineering or trades background with industry relevant tickets and/or qualifications
- German language skills are a bonus but not essential
