Subject: Benchmarking process-based models with data analytics - BEMODA

Working time: 100% (39 hours per week), limited to 2 years

Your tasks:

• Development of data analytics concepts using machine-learning for probabilistic soil moisture regionalization
• Pixel-based image analysis (e.g. remote sensing imagery)
• Development of optimal sampling strategies for sparse regional cosmic-ray neutron measurements
• Benchmark model-based soil moisture prediction by mHM with data analytics

Your profile:

• PhD in one of the following subjects: Hydrology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics
• Background in data science, programming, and numerical mathematics
• Experience in application and implementation of data analytical approaches and/or machine learning
• Experience with geo-information data and image analysis are of advantage
• Relevant publication record and/or open source repositories
