Job description
The group legal department acts as a business partner to all other departments focussing mainly on commercial and corporate law matters in relation to the worldwide activities of the Nordex Group, with focus on the preparation and negotiation of complex agreements for the supply and maintenance of wind turbines and ancillary works for wind farms and associated subcontracts, as well as for the sourcing of wind turbine equipment and components from all over the world. A global team of lawyers, the group legal department operates out of a number of jurisdictions, including Germany, Spain, UK, Ireland, Finland, France, US, Brazil and India, and is divided into several teams with a regional and/or functional focus.A small team of lawyers based in Hamburg and Pamplona currently focusses on global procurement and supply chain matters and is looking to grow.
The tasks and responsibilities comprise, in particular:
drafting and negotiation of a wide range of contracts for the development, manufacture and sourcing of key components with international suppliers and vendors, including cooperation and license agreements in relation to the development and/or use of technical know-how and intellectual property rights
claims handling with suppliers and follow-up, in particular in respect to warranty claims (including management of external law firms, where required)
adhoc advice in respect of other types of agreements related to the Nordex Group’s activities, e.g. real estate or equipment lease, IT-support or research & development cooperations, etc.
preparing standard forms and templates, as well as providing legal in-house training to staff
reporting to Lead Counsel Procurement based in Pamplona
Job requirements
excellent academic qualification and admission to practice law in an EU jurisdictionideally 3 to 5 years’ post-graduation experience in private practice or in-house - experience in the construction and engineering or energy industries is of advantage
experience in working in commercial contracts in an international environment
strong interpersonal, negotiation, organisation, planning and presentation skills are essential
excellent English language skills are a must with ideally one other European language, including ability to negotiate contracts in those languages
risk and claim management, as well as insurance know-how are a plus
willingness to undertake some travel
