Subject: Unravelling the biological effects of ionic chemicals in human macrophages

Project start: 1st February 2020. Working time 65% (25,35 hours per week), limited to 3 years.

Your tasks:

  • Characterization of intracellular signaling pathways after chemical exposure in human macrophages in inflammation using global proteomics and phospho-proteomics
  • Characterization of chemical – protein interactions to identify cellular targets and key events
  • Identification of mechanisms that link molecular responses to chemicals and inflammatory processes
  • Development of grouping strategies for chemicals based on omics data to improve hazard assessment

Your profile:

  • Excellent Master’s degree (or near completion) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or related fields
  • Elevated knowledge in human primary immune cell culture, flow cytometry and ELISA
  • Basic knowledge in mass spectrometry-based proteomics
  • Basic knowledge and strong interest in statistics and bioinformatics
  • Excellent English and communication skills
