PostDoc / Scientist

Working time can be arranged flexible between 19.5 and 27.3 hours per week. Starting date is 1 September 2022, the position is limited until 30 June 2025.

Your tasks:

• Identify economic and financial instruments (E&FIs) that can best be applied within spatial planning processes along the mitigation hierarchy on biodiversity
• Analyse the interplay with instruments from spatial planning and environmental impact assessments
• Identify and analyse the most commonly applied E&FIs and their impacts on biodiversity in cases related to spatial planning and large infrastructure projects
• Understand potential impacts of EU sustainable finance strategy
• Based on an analysis of transformative potential develop proposals for selected new/improved instruments
• Document - with support from other partner institutes of the project
• Contribute to reports and scientific manuscript writing

Your profile:

• A Master degree and at least 3 years of relevant working experience in the field of economics, politics, geography or related disciplines or a PhD
• Experience with biodiversity policy, and/or multi-level governance, preferably in the EU
• Knowledge on policy instrument analysis, the EU renewed sustainable financing strategy and the Taxonomy regulation
• Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team and collaborate with international partners
• Good track record in terms of scientific publications
• The working language will be English
