System Administrator & Data Center Operator
- Management of server hardware, converged and hyper-converged systems, peripheral equipment and firmware upgrades
- Install, Move and Changes of equipment in the Data Center.
- Management of Operating Systems, mainly Windows Server and possibly Linux also including container platform management
- Management of Active Directory Environment at a Forest Level and Microsoft Services (PKI, DHCP, DNS, DC, Clusters, NLB), creating and issuing certificates
- Management of vSphere platform, ESX hosts, VM’s, SRM, vRA (Automation & scripting) and NSX
- Incident, requests and change management
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements:
- Knowledge of physical servers in particular HP and DELL including blade models.
- Practical experience and familiarity with bare-metal installation of different OS on server hardware.
- Practical experience executing firmware upgrades on server hardware.
- Provide technical support in the data center by performing system/network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in order to ensure optimum operations.
- Install and configure new equipment at the datacenter.
- Update network topology diagram after installing/decommissioning of equipment.
- Protect company database and infrastructure by setting up access controls, monitoring surveillance systems and other security measures to maintain the integrity of company information.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all existing systems in the datacenter , including decommissioned devices and work tools.
- Conduct periodic inspections to ensure efficient performance of data processing systems
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal policies on IT operations.
- Support for third party or internally developed applications.
- Collaborate with different infrastructure teams to ensure the security and efficiency of data center server/network.
- Carry out system administration tasks such as software installation/updates, security patches, and hardware maintenance
- Assist senior level engineers in designing/modifying network systems and application infrastructure.
- Perform basic repair or parts replacement of damaged or faulty equipment and devices.
- Experience working in a Microsoft environment including installing, configuring, provisioning and maintaining Microsoft Win servers (2012-2019).
- Experience working in a Microsoft environment including installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory Forests, Domains.
- Experience managing DHCP, DNS, Domain Controllers, Microsoft Clusters, File Servers, Print Servers, Group Policies, server patch management process
- Experience working with vSphere including installing, configuring, provisioning and maintaining ESX host servers and clusters, guest VM’s (Windows and Linux) and VM tools.
Optional (Advantage)
- Knowledge of virtual connect and NPAR virtualization.
- Knowledge of hyper-converged systems such as VxRail, PowerShell scripting,
- Management of a PKI and CA system including creation and issuing of new certificates, HSM administration, NSX, SRM (Site Recovery Manger), vRA, vROPS
- Experience working with a Service Request management system.
- Knowledge of the ITIL process in terms of change management, incident management
Competences:
- Good written and verbal English (must be able to communicate in writing via emails, etc. and participate in meetings over the phone, video-conference etc.)
