The Role
The role of the Project Manager - Retail Development is to oversee the construction/remodel of new and existing Tesla centers. In this role, you will coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders, focusing on the buildout of the Tesla facilities. You will drive the project from initiation through to final completion including planning, directing schedules and setting overall budgets and organizing/coordinating cross-functional activities, ensuring timely completion of the project within budgetary constraints and without compromising on the overall quality of the build out.

Responsibilities
Working with the Retail Development team to ensure appropriate properties are being identified, including input to the site survey(s);
Estimate project costs based on information obtained from site visits, and surveys, and recommend subsequent budgetary changes where possible or necessary;

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
Work with the Design team to check and mark up drawing sets
Identify and manage project dependencies while maintaining the critical path.
Plan and schedule project timelines from property identification through to final completion.
Prepare detailed scope of works for projects and partner with the Construction
Procurement to competitively bid out projects and comply with all internal Tesla policies and procedures.
Quickly respond to queries and resolve any technical barriers to completion.
Manage all construction activities including all change orders and snagging items.
Ensure that snagging items are completed fully prior to location opening.
Fully close out the project financially, by working with Tesla Finance team shortly after construction completion. This closeout process must include all Change Orders with approved backup and the General Contractor final reconciliation form.

Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with all Landlord representatives throughout projects
Assist negotiating tenant improvement allowance amounts from Landlords
Be a point of contact for Tesla Country Directors to discuss Construction related matters
Be a point of contact for landlord interaction
Deal with ad-hoc Construction related projects or queries
Requirements
Bachelor degree in construction related area of study or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
Minimum five years of working for a construction firm or an in-house development firm, preferably in retail or industrial
Experience with municipal planning and zoning procedures preferred
Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint
Fluency in English and German required
Ability to travel up to 60%
Valid clean driving license
The ideal candidate will be based in Germany
