Job Description The Sales Director is responsible for developing and leading a high-performance sales team to consistently drive profitable content growth and build long-term, strategic customer relationships within the Heavy Vehicle and Off-Road (HVOR) business. The Sales Director will execute the growth strategy using data, analytics and effectively set into motion measurable action plans and account strategies with the sales team. Responsible for understanding market dynamics and trends, plus key customer business strategies and needs to effectively drive the growth strategy. Responsible for developing strong industry relationships with the customer at all levels. Ideal candidate is someone with senior level leadership experience in sales and business development within the transportation or off-road OEM markets. This position will report to the Global Sales DirectorPosition Responsibilities
:- develop performance-driven sales team that is capable of driving growth with complex, global customers by selling value based technical solutions. * lead the sales team to execute the growth strategy to achieve annual and long range growth goals. lead team to define and achieve specific sales growth and profitability targets in support of these growth goals. * actively develop and manage the nbo pipeline to achieve incremental content, market share and sales growth goals. * define and implement robust and progressive sales processes and key metrics for sales team. * train, coach, and mentor the sales team effecting full embracement of crm tools, and the use of data, analytics, and key metrics to measure success. directs team with analyzing information and prioritizing opportunities critical to accounts. * leads the team for the successful development, execution and alignment of global customer strategies and account plans. * responsible for developing strong industry relationships with the customer at all levels. understand decision makers and their influence on awarding business within various disciplines (engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing). * understand competitor's strengths and weaknesses. leads the team in developing strategies to win against competition on specific opportunities. * recognized as an influential leader by advising, persuading and negotiating where there may be some diverging views to accept new concepts, practices and approaches. * understands strategic business challenges and priorities. support overall company strategy process. position requirements:
- bachelor's degree in business or engineering required. masters or mba preferred. * 10+ years of experience in technical oem sales or business development role. * 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience. * experience within commercial vehicle, off-road machinery, or automotive markets preferred. * ability to lead, coach, and develop teams. * holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards. * ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands. * proven success in value added solutions and relationship selling to top decision makers. proven aptitude with miller-heiman strategic and conceptual selling methodologies a plus. * proven experience implementing and using progressive sales processes and tools which accurately quantify sales results, as well as future opportunities. * strong analytical ability and business acumen. * a successful track record in setting priorities;
- the ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills. * strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally at customers. * results orientation evidenced by having delivered outstanding performance, through strong sales performance based on clear business growth and development in various market settings and business cycles. results are measured with clear metrics and performance indicators are used to drive and manage the business. * customer focus shown through the development and maintenance of trustworthy and lasting customer relationships with a clear focus on sales and service delivery and exceeding customer expectations while ensuring profitable business and a perspective for future customer needs. they will clearly understand the customer dynamics and be able to anticipate and changing needs and act/react quickl
