Job description
We are looking for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidate (m/f/d) who will be working in the Wind & Site Assessment group at Nordex. You will provide a valuable contribution to the continuous cost of energy (CoE) reduction and the further improvement of the competitiveness of the Nordex portfolio by evaluating existing and future methods of turbulence intensity modelling and extrapolation as well as wind farm energy modelling.- Analyze meteorological observation data as well as modelling data and perform validation/verification with existing sites and measurements
- Perform comparisons of different turbulence data sources with regards to especially spatial behaviour and cross check with measurement data
- Create criteria and develop correction methods in order to improve accuracy/decrease uncertainties of modelled turbulence in order to adapt modelled turbulence data to any potential site
- Examine reanalysis/mesoscale data, determine criteria and find correction methods to support fast estimations for the wind resource potential of any potential site
- Support implementation of improvements to existing Wind & Site Assessment processes
Job requirements
- Basic knowledge of statistics and formulas describing wind and turbulence intensity
- Basic knowledge of meteorological observation data as well as reanalysis/mesoscale data is an advantage
- Fluent communication skills (oral and written) in English
