Your tasks:
- Cultivation and physiological characterization of
sp. PCC 6803 in axenic and mixed-species cultures
- Microfluidic cultivation and characterization of
sp. PCC 6803 in customized continuous membrane chip systems
- Design and testing of membrane geometries and materials (with cooperation partner)
- Quantification of local oxygen concentrations and cellular oxygen production rates via PLIM (Phosphorescence Lifetime Imaging)
- Characterization of transmembrane oxygen mass transfer
- Reactor modeling based on microscale data
- Model-based scale-up (mL scale) of the chip system and interfacing chip with offline analytics for photohydrogen quantification
Your profile:
- Master in Biochemistry/Chemistry/Biochemical Engineering with biological background
- Basic knowledge of microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip concepts is desirable
- Experience in microbiological methods (cultivation, characterization) is mandatory
- Experience in simulation and modeling approaches is desirable
- Good communication skills in English are mandatory
