Senior Project Manager (freelancer)
We are looking for an experienced project manager to lead implementation projects for one of our biggest (and newest) global clients. The main objective is to migrate new technology clients to our eCommerce platform. For some clients this will be a migration from an existing ecommerce solution and for others it may be their first time selling direct, particularly through ecommerce.
The Senior Project Manager needs to ensure a successful and seamless migration and performs planning, executing and monitoring on a daily basis. The ideal candidate needs to have strong leadership and people skills and also has proven experience in engaging with counterparts on executive levels – both internally as well as externally. This requires a highly motivated, structured and experienced individual with a passion for leadership and project execution
Your Responsibilities
- Leads a cross-functional project team, assigns resources, responsibilities and priorities and follows our PMI-based project methodology
- Collaborates (and corrals) key internal stakeholders to establish and execute all relevant project deliverables
- Takes ownership of projects and holds all parties accountable
- Effectively serves as the single point of contact in projects and interacts with various management levels, including senior management and executives
- Manages client expectations by understanding the business needs for each project and makes on-going decisions based on what’s best for the organization and the project - even if that requires convincing senior stakeholders
- Manages day-to-day operational tasks, schedules, budget and scope of projects
- Provides timely and accurate project status reports and manages escalations
- Ensures that high-quality project documentation is compiled in a timely fashion
Your Qualifications and Skills
- 7-10 years of project management experience, ideally from international client projects
- Strong knowledge and skills in software implementation or related IT projects
- Proven leadership skills to guide the client and internal stakeholders during the projects
- Strong drive and self-sufficient personality and able to work independently
- Significant experience with communications across multiple levels within an organization – proven ability to navigate complex organizational structure
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Open to occasional travel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- PMI certification is a plus
