The Director of Sales is reponsible to create and define our European sales strategy and communication tools to develop market and product development initiatives for the company. Manage all European sales activities and create, implement, and execute sales initiatives. Provide tactical leadership with a variety of global communication programs across a diverse set ofplatforms and formats.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
Develop and execute sales plans to achieve long-term, sustained, significant and measurable business growth.
Coach, develop and motivate the sales team to maximize sales including setting goals and objectives.
Direct the sales efforts including all results for sales personnel, service, and after-sales support.
Implement sales policies and procedures that maximizes the sales of products.
Manage interface between the company and our existing, new, or potential customers.
Supervise the sales staff. Establish procedures, duties, and goals.
Develop, schedule, and participate in training programs for customers or representatives as needed. Monitor content and update as required.
Initiate and approve special engineering requests mandated by customer requirements. Manage the review and prioritizing of open sales orders.
Submit weekly sales reports to the President updating on sales activities.
Participate in weekly sales calls to update and discuss strategy with Sales Managers.
Utilize the full capability of our CRM system for documenting the sales process by scheduling future activity and follow-ups in the system.
Provide input and feedback to engineering and management on product requirements, new product needs, and additions to the product line for new opportunities and product roadmaps.
Provide feedback on Sales requirements for Marketing Communications – advertising and promotions, campaigns, social media and website content, events, and trade shows.
Lead and direct sales account activities including actively selling UEI’s products and routinely visiting key accounts.
Lead quarterly sales meetings at Company Headquarters for territory planning and identification of needs to promote sales success and a sense of team with a unified vision.
Ability to gather field sales and customer information and process it to develop marketing and sales strategies as well as to provide market-oriented product specifications.
Forecast sales on a monthly basis for accounts.
Routinely review and adjust business plans and identify top prospects.
Generate leads through industry networking, asking for referrals when appropriate.
Participate in trade shows and company seminars as required.
SECONDARY ELEMENTS:
Develop an understanding of our product lines and how they meet various customer needs and applications.
Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
10-15+ years of progressive technical sales management experience, preferably within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Hands-on international exposure with a technical background preferred.
Awareness of global market trends and developing products that meet international demands.
Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams.
Proven ability to develop sales strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to other key leaders within the organization.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to build a solid and actionable customer understanding by mapping customer journeys and capturing their needs.
Outstanding strategic skills with solid creative thinking.
