Job description

Steel Tower Sourcing is responsible for delivering shell incl. tower internals in quality, time and cost while reporting to the department PM & EPC. One of the main tasks of the Senior Steel Tower Manufacturing Expert is to support manufacturing by calculating the production costs for internal stakeholders such as Engineering and Sourcing breaking down material, conversion and overhead. Other relevant tasks include contributing to Quality and Engineering with practical experience in the improvement of manufacturing challenges as well as developing existing and new suppliers to secure product specifications. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

In this position you assess production set-up at international steel tower manufacturers identifying potential improvements
Based on your assessment you detail cost of material, conversion and overhead improving transparency
You summarize and present your assessment as well as specific actions to senior management. The realization of the proposed measures, including your support to Sourcing when negotiating with the supplier, are part of your responsibility

You assure transferring your know how as Senior Manufacturing Expert Steel Towers (m/f/d) to the organization and establish yourself as a key contributor regarding the manufacturing of steel towers

You report directly to the responsible of Steel Tower Sourcing but interact with various stakeholders
This position requires travelling to the various manufacturing sites. Travel varies heavily based on projects.

Job requirements

• Engineering degree (Master, Dipl.-Ing., Dr.-Ing., M.Eng) or similar
• Minimum of 8 years of experience related to operations or manufacturing of steel towers
• Experience in the creation and execution of assessments and potential analyses
• Strong English communication, verbally and written. Additional languages are appreciated
• Excellent user of Excel- and PowerPoint
• Communicative and persuasive at all levels. From shop floor to senior management
• Strong analytical skills
• Team spirit is mandatory
• Availability to travel internationally incl. Asia and Americas
