The Geomorphology & Geochronology chair group focusses on how physical, biological, and anthropogenic pro- cesses shape the outer skin of our planet. With- in the French-German collaborative project “WEAR- ING DOWN” (ANR-DFG funded), we seek for a talented PhD candidate (f/m/d) with interest in developing luminescence-based techniques for quantifying landscape erosion in New Zealand and Chile. You will get the unique opportunity to work in the field, in geochronological lab- oratories (mainly luminescence and cosmogenic nuclide lab), and with numerical methods. Although this position is primarily located at the Geomorphology & Geochronol- ogy chair group (Prof. Reimann) the project will be co-su- pervised by the Earth Surface Processes and Cosmogenic Nuclides group (Dr. Binnie, Prof. Dunai) and the Geosciences and Environment Toulouse (GET, Prof. Bonnet).

» MSc degree in Geosciences (preferably associated with Geo- morphology and/or Geochronology)
» Affinity with geomorphological field work » Affinity with experimental laboratory work » Curiosity driven and dedicated researcher » Affinity with statistical and/or numerical methods » Very good communication skills in English (oral & written)

The position is available from the 01.09.2022 on a part-time basis (75%). It is limited until 31.08.2025. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal quali- fications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
