Such training on sensitive data raises several practical challenges. For example, it might be not possible to train the model in a centralized setting due to privacy and security considerations. Or, the model trained on user data might leak sensitive user information when deployed

the goal of this phd project is to tackle these problems from both practical and theoretical perspectives. specifically, this project will focus on how to quantify information privacy in the context of a machine learning model, and devise mechanisms to satisfy information privacy requirements when training a model. qualifications * education:

master of science in machine learning, mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science or related fields with excellent grades * personality:
excellent theoretical skills proven by top course grades and intrinsic motivation for top-level research and scientific independence * experience and knowledge:

general knowledge of machine learning, good programming skills with prior experience in python or matlab. prior experience with one or more of pandas, tensorflow, pytorch and scikit-learn libraries, prior experience in scientific writing and prior knowledge in bayesian inference, deep learning or numerical optimization is a plus. * languages:
