SAF-HOLLAND, Inc. is currently seeking a
Human Resources Generalist I
for our Muskegon, MI facility. This position is based in Muskegon, MI and very limited overnight travel is required.

As a Human Resources Generalist I you will:
- Supports a union facility by performing professional level Human Resources responsibilities involving multiple areas such as employment, benefits administration, training, safety, compliance and employee relations.
- Receives and acts on employee complaints, administers employee records, ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations, recommend and coordinates employee training activities and administers compensation, benefits and performance programs.
- All paperwork regarding employment.
- Administers health, welfare and retirement benefits (25% of time will be working with benefits)
- Responsible for open enrollment.
- Schedules all training and maintains all training records.
- Facilitates Safety Committee.
- Ensures all safety issues are properly addressed.
- Responsible for workers’ compensation claims administration.
- Responsible for government reporting (EEO-1, VETS 100).
- Maintains applicant flow log.
- Maintains affirmative action efforts.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field,
- Minimum two years of Human Resources experience including general knowledge and experience with Human Resources and employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FCRA, AA, USERRA, OSHA, etc.); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Benefits administration and pension plan administration experience preferred.
- Certification as Human Resources Professional or Senior Human Resources Professional preferred.
