We are looking for a candidate to independently carry out the communication tasks and support the project management of the EU project EU-PolarNet 2 "Co-ordinating and Co-designing the European Polar Research Area”.

Tasks

  • Maintaining and updating the project website and other online communication tools,
  • Independently communicating and presenting project-relevant topics in social media,
  • Developing presentations, videos, brochures and promotional material together with the European project partners,
  • Independently planning and implementing dialogue formats with citizens and relevant stakeholders,
  • Preparing scientific documents for a non-scientific audience,
  • Organising conferences with stakeholders and decision-makers, and promoting events on polar issues,
  • Organising, preparing and following-up of project meetings, preparing German and English-language minutes as well as providing flexible support to the International Cooperation Office and its EU projects with other tasks that arise in a small team

Requirements

  • Master's degree in communication sciences with a strong international focus or a university degree with a comparable qualification.
  • Proven experience in public relations and in particular in communication through social media and in content management (Typo3 or similar).
  • Knowledge of international, intercultural and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Experience in working with stakeholders from politics and business; media and society are beneficial.
  • A strong ability to think strategically combined with communication skills, persuasiveness, the ability to cooperate, experience in project management and confidence in dealing with international partners
  • Very good verbal and written skills in German and English.
  • A high willingness to travel. The position involves extensive travel

This is a full-time position, limited to 2 year. It is also suitable for part-time employment. The salary will be paid in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federation (Tarifvertrag des öffentlichen Dienstes, TVöD Bund), up to salary level
