About the team ABAP Platform

SAP ABAP Platform drives innovation from the heart of SAP. ABAP Platform consists of more than 600 people located around the globe. We are SAP’s technical foundation and proud that our innovations are used by over 12 million people in 120 countries.

Since decades, the ABAP Application Server has been the foundation of SAP’s on-premise business solutions. In the new SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment, the ABAP Application Server is offered as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for cloud applications.

Our cloud customers and partners expect highly available system landscapes and software updates with near-zero downtime and guaranteed stability. Highest software quality and fast delivery cycles for new features are a prerequisite. To ensure this, we will transform our software testing infrastructure, our development and delivery processes, to fully embrace the practices of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).

The Role

We’re looking for motivated and talented (junior) developers (f/m/d) who want to embark on an exciting journey with us to create innovative, high quality core technology components with care and attention to detail.

Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code in ABAP, C++, or Java - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documenting the results. We follow agile software engineering methods and are always in close contact with our customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback. We consume and contribute to Open Source.

Role Requirements

Above all you should have an open mind. We expect you want to learn a lot of new and cool stuff - new technologies, methodologies, and ways to think out-of-the-box.

During your first 12 months, we offer training courses geared to your individual knowledge and experience, a buddy program, and regular knowledge exchanges with other rookies and seasoned colleagues.

Importantly, we don’t just expect you to learn from us – we want you to share your fresh insights and ideas actively with us as well.
You have
a degree in computer science, mathematics, natural science, engineering or like
the ability to understand complex technical concepts and solve problems
a good understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
the attitude of a team player
fluency in German and English
