Job Description

Our interdisciplinary and expanding team is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist with special interest in interdisciplinary optical microscopy and neuroscience (neuroimmunology).

The Section of Translational Neuroimmunology is funded by the Schilling Foundation, DFG (Research Unit 3004, SYNABS), BMBF and BMWK.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Investigating the basic pathomechanisms of synaptic changes underlying autoimmune and inflammatory disorders of the central nervous system

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• PhD in neurosciences, biophysics, or related natural sciences
• excellent background and experimental skills in optics and / or super resolution microscopy with knowledge in neuroscience
• experience in 2-Photon imaging and fluorescence lifetime microscopy will be an asset
• keen to work in an interdisciplinary team and apply microscopic tools to various scientific questions
• very good language proficiency in German and English and scientific communication
• a high level of motivation and enthusiasm and excellent communication and teamwork skills
