Munich , GermanyThe Integrated Analytics team is part of the Munich Re Life & Health department based in Munich. It is responsible for coordinating data and system development, data integration, and data analytics topics for more than 50 markets, 500+ cedents, and 1,500+ active reinsurance contracts.
A key function is conducting client and market experience studies by applying advanced statistical methods. We consult internal and external clients through specific projects, individual client workshops, and client seminars. We apply and further develop statistical data analytics methods, and enhance and maintain tools for the support of our analyses.
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Actuary for experience studies.
Your job
- Designing, planning, executing, and continuous enhancing experience studies with modern statistical methods along the whole (re)insurance value chain
- Identifying future trends in big data and analytics that are relevant for experience analysis in life and health insurance, and turning insight into value generation through development and continuous enhancement of methods and tools
- Representing the team and our key topics vis-à-vis internal and external stakeholders, for example through presentations at client events and trainings
- Drive cross-functional actuarial analysis and analytics initiatives in close collaboration with functions along the whole (re)insurance value chain (Client Management, Best Estimates, Pricing, Business Development, Medical Research, Underwriting, Claims)
- Master’s degree with high marks in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or comparable (quantitative) studies
- Multi-year experience in a senior actuary role with focus on experience studies
- Proven practical experience in applying modern statistical methods in life and health (re)insurance
- Deep knowledge of life insurance products
- In-depth knowledge of experience studies tools is an advantage
- Expertise in VBA and R desirable
- Actuary or similar qualification desirable
- Several years of (international) work experience in actuarial department of a Life primary insurer or reinsurer
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams / projects e.g. interfaces to IT experts, lawyers (GDPR)
- Strong presentation-, consulting, stakeholder- and project-management skills
- Highly dedicated, motivated and results-driven
- Strong command of spoken and written German and English
