to help with several ongoing projects related to plant ecology and invasion science.
working time: 19 hours per week, start: 1 September
Your tasks:
- Harvesting ecological data from various open sources, including databases, websites, and literature, manually and using R
- Assisting with extensive literature screenings and data extraction from literature for the purpose of systematic review and evidence synthesis
- Preparing metadata for collected data
- Miscellaneous tasks related to data collection, cleaning, and proofing
Your profile:
- Good knowledge of plant ecology
- Experience in handling tabular data programmatically
- Ability to read critically and identify necessary information in scientific literature
- Attention to detail
- At least basic knowledge of R and willingness to enhance R skills and work in R on a regular basis
- Ability to complete tasks under minor supervision
- Ideally, a Master's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources, or similar. Advanced bachelor students with sufficient relevant knowledge are also welcome to apply
- Fluency in English
