Under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Department and leadership staff, perform routine public contact, sell requested items to customers, collect accurate payments.

Pay starts: $9.25 to $10

Essential Duties

• Cash register operations to include accurately collecting and depositing admission payments and selling concessions (make change & issue receipts);
• Greets the public and answers questions in a friendly manner;
• Responds to inquiries from employees, customers and others, and refers, when necessary, to appropriate staff;
• Assists with necessary paperwork such as accident/incident reports, daily deposit reports, and tally sheets;
• Helps prevent accidents and allow for the enjoyment of all patrons through the fair and consistent enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of individuals using the parks & recreation facilities;
• Provides high quality customer service by being friendly, tactful, courteous and by maintaining an alert and professional posture at all times (dress & personal hygiene);
• Cooperatively works with other staff to ensure a professional and enjoyable work environment;
• Perform daily cleaning/organization duties;
• Additional duties as assigned or requested.

• Ability to act as a role model for participants;
• Ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to understand and follow oral &/or written instructions;
• Ability to express maturity in thought, work habits and responsibility;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective & courteous working relationships with youth, their parents, other park staff, community organization partners and the general public;
• Mathematical skills;
• 16 years of age and older.

• Some work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions);
