for the IAF’s Institute for Microsystems Technology

currently as a fixed 3 years contract and starting as soon as possible. Employment conditions are regulated by the German TV-L regulations (max. E13) and the place of employment is Furtwangen. The willingness to perform tasks at our other locations is expected. It is also expected that the candidate is working towards a doctor’s degree during the project financed by the German DFG.

Your tasks will include:

  • working on the DFG funded research project “MustAct” within the DFG-SPP “KOMMMA”
  • undertaking independent scientific work for research projects
  • communication and scientific exchange with other partners within SPP “KOMMMA” (about 22 projects)
  • developing concepts and technology for electrostatic cooperative inch worm actuators in the technology laboratories for micro- and nano systems at HFU
  • modelling and simulating microsystems and production processes
  • project management
  • drafting scientific reports and exposés (intermediate and final)
  • publications on research results

We are looking for:

Successful candidates should meet the employment conditions (see below) and hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering or natural sciences. Ideally, you will have experience with the project management of research projects as well as in the areas of

Si-technology and FEM-simulation. You enjoy working as part of an international team and have excellent English skills. It is expected that non-German applicants will participate German courses offered by the university to achieve C1 level.
