Your responsibilities

  • In your function as Strategic Warehouse Manager (m/f/d) you manage the warehouse logistics service providers and you are in charge of the definition, adjustment and monitoring of the key figures (qualitative and quantitative)
  • As a competent contact person, you are responsible for the development of processes and performance standards as well as to ensure they are adhered to. Additionally you implement measures to ensure the execution of the contractually agreed logistics services (internal/external).
  • In cooperation with warehouse logistics service providers and carriers, you design and optimize logistics processes and interfaces. You also monitor and develop the network.
  • You have a functional disposition authority over logistics service providers (internal/external, international) and you are a contact person for the service providers. You initiate escalations if necessary.
  • You implement and monitor compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations (IATA, MDD, ISO, hazardous materials regulations…)
  • You participate in calls for tenders / bids and in the drawing up of specifications
  • You carry out regular analyses of risk situations and develop appropriate countermeasures

Your qualification

  • You have successfully completed your studies in (industrial) engineering sciences, business informatics or economic sciences
  • You have several years of professional experience in logistics or production and you have a good knowledge of internal processes and connections in the field of logistics as well as in the management of service providers
  • You have proven experience in project and quality management, ideally also in lean management / continuous improvement
  • You have good user-level knowledge of SAP, MS-Office and an affinity for data
  • You have excellent communication skills and command of English – both written and spoken; ideally you have good German skills. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Your strengths include good analytical and organizational skills, creativity and a hands-on mindset
  • You have a confident manner and are able to win people over with quick-witted arguments
  • You enjoy working independently, are reliable, and have a strong sense of responsibility
