Description

SAIC is seeking a qualified Special Operations Forces Support SME for the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the USAFE-AFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC) at Einsiedlerhof AS, Germany. The Special Operations Forces Support SME will:

Perform white force, blue force, and red force functions associated with air operations during execution of exercises and training events.
Lead mission planning, briefing, and debriefing with the exercise audience.

Develop and execute scenarios for UAWC exercise events by:
Integrating joint, combined, allied, and coalition forces in an air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace battlefield.
Generating mission materials related to the scenarios including Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Airspace Control Orders (ACO), Special Instructions (SPINs), and associated documents.

Executing mission duties with models such as Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) and Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM).

Apply in-depth knowledge of United States (US) military planning cycles and processes, as well as the employment of US military weapons systems.
Conduct simulated air operations during exercises in mission sets that include, but not limited to, Special Operations, Close Air Support (CAS), Strike Control and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), Dynamic Targeting (DT), and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR).

Qualifications

Qualifications
AFSOC qualified Pilot, Fire Control Officer (FCO), Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), or Combat Systems Officer (CSO) within five years.
Minimum of 1000 hours in the AC-130 or U-28.
Minimum of 200 hours of Instructor experience in AFSOC aircraft.
Experience and knowledge in SOF operations planning and execution.
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:
Weapons School graduate
Experience as FAC-A, ALO, JTAC, and / or TACP
Familiarity with US Military training requirements, methodology, and procedures, particularly the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)
Familiarity with US military policy and doctrine as well as experience with the planning and execution of joint, combined, allied, and other partner nation’s operations and exercises
