Subject: Simulation of the transport and fate of microplastic in lakes
Earliest starting date: 1st
April 2019, working time: 75% (29,25 hours per week), limited to 3 years, subject to the provision of funds.
Your tasks:
- Application of CFD models to simulate transport of MP in lakes
- Calibration of CFD or other numerical lake models to lake-mesocosm experiments
- Support lake-mesocosm experiments conducted by another PhD student
- Evaluation of transport mechanisms for MP in lakes
- Preparation of scientific papers on the transport and fate of MP in lakes
Your profile:
The potential candidate should have a Master’s degree and a strong background in at least one of the following disciplines:
- limnology/hydrology
- hydraulics
- civil or environmental engineering
- geosciences or environmental sciences (with a focus on water)
