Copy Editor

Department Description
The candidate, and their team, will be responsible for quality of the copy output provided by all editorial teams. They will ensure that the copy presented on all channels fits Al Alarbiya.net English’s style, is free from grammatical and spelling errors, and is fit for publication. They will also act as the final check for facts, statistics, and sources.

The candidate will be responsible for updating the organization’s style guide and dictates writing standards, such as tense, voice, and spelling. They will work closely with other editors and writers, suggesting changes to enhance articles' readability, conciseness and style.

Team collaboration:
The editorial team works closely together in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the editor-in-chief and work closely with different editorial and production departments.

Job Requirements
Have 7+ years of experience in a similar role;
Native-level English language skills;
Strong English language editing, writing and reporting skills;
Proven expertise in media, opinions, videoscripts,onlinenewsand features);
Strong online research background;
Word and Excel skills;
An eye for detail along with critical thinking;
Prioritizing and multitasking;
Arabic speaking skills is an advantage.
