For our location in Zeuthen we are seeking: Computer Scientist (f/m/d) for the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) DESY DESY is one of the world& s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. More than 2400 employees work at our two locations Hamburg and Zeuthen in science, technology and administration. The IT group at the DESY site in Zeuthen near Berlin is responsible for the institute& s IT infrastructure. In addition, the group also supports the projects of the scientific groups. The position Design and implement software modules for the CTA medium-size telescope structure control system as well as for the CTA resource manager and central control system Participate in the integration and testing of CTA software systems in the computing infrastructure of DESY in Zeuthen Participate in the whole life cycle of CTA array control and data acquisition software system development Requirements Completed scientific higher education in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, mathematics or equivalent knowledge Experience and excellent knowledge in operating systems (Linux) including proficiency in shell scripting;& experience in real-time systems would be appreciated Excellent skills in object-oriented programming (e.g. C++, Java, Python) and data structures, experience in functional programming is appreciated Experience in SQL/NoSQL database development Good command of the OPC UA platform is highly appreciated Good knowledge in test-driven development, continuous integration, test automation, and distributed version management Willingness to participate in expert and working meetings,& conferences abroad, as well as occasionally in software commissioning campaigns in the CTA sites in Chile and the Canary Islands Good knowledge of English For further information, please contact& David Melkumyan, +49& 3376277376, david.melkumyan& desy.de or David Berge, +49& 3376277291, david.berge& desy.de.
