For our client, a global company that provides a portfolio of IT services, software, and technology with a major project in the financial sector, we are currently looking for a Senior Network Design Architect on a permanent basis.

Overview:
The primary job responsibility of the Data center Engineer will be to provide the necessary technical support of the client on-site Data Center. The tasks to be performed are system/network installation, configuration, and smart hands troubleshooting problems to make sure of smooth continuation of operations.

Tasks:
⦁ Must take care of the installation and maintenance of the data center devices and process. These may include servers, laptops/desktops, racking equipment and monitoring of the DC environment. Candidate must have a good understanding of all technical aspects of data center operations. Assist 3rd /4th line customer support to identify the errors and monitor occurrences related to data center tasks. Candidate should be able to diagnose and if possible resolve any errors as quickly as possible

⦁ Maintain a record to keep track of all the events and logs. This will assist in timely reporting to the superiors
⦁ Should come up with practical troubleshooting solutions and must educate the staff members about the same
⦁ It is crucial to carry out assessments and inspections at regular intervals. It will help candidate to keep everything under control and will also allow swift action whenever any problem occurs.

⦁ Candidate should have innovative forward-thinking mindset who can come up with new and prospective ideas to improve processes and business-related tasks.

⦁ Excellent communication skills required to effectively communicate with teams across the globe, vendors and senior customer stakeholders

 Skills:
⦁ Good operation knowledge of data center operations
⦁ Safety and Security orientated mindset
⦁ Knowledge about switches, routers and server hardware
⦁ Configuration of Network equipment (VLAN, Routing Protocols, Spanning Tree,…)
⦁ Setup of Server OS such as Windows, Linux, Unix, ESX or Hyper-V
⦁ Experience working on Racking (Installation/ Decommissioning of equipment), Cable Management (Cable routing, Labelling and best practices), Raid Arrays (Methodologies, limitations etc), Backup/Tape Libraries

⦁ Experience with Fiber-optic, Ethernet cables (CAT5-7) and SFP’s (Small form-factor pluggable)
⦁ Full understanding of IMAC processes
⦁ Networking fundamentals
⦁ Good German and English skills
