Systems Performance and Calibration

• Responsibility for the definition and maintenance of the Instrument System architecture to meet the customer requirements while assuring an effective system design in terms of risk, cost and schedule, and a good balance in the distribution of complexity & risk between the subsystems (Opto-mechanics, Mechanisms, Focal Plane System, etc.)
• Define the instrument system architecture configuration. This includes the architecture definition of the Calibration System (on-ground, in-flight, on-board; operation; data processing) and instrument interfaces, e.g. with the platform
• Assure effective usage of existing technologies & heritage within the company. Fosters and support the required technology development. Identify risks and their mitigation early in new instrument designs
• Lead / implement the customer requirements analysis

Your Qualifications:

• Completed studies (possibly with PhD) in a relevant scientific or engineering subject (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Remote Sensing) or equivalent qualification
• Proficiency in or at least capability to understand all the engineering fields contributing to an Instrument development: Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Focal Plane & Mechanism Design & Analysis, Mission Analysis
• Several years of Systems Engineering experience in aerospace, scientific instrumentation or adequate technology / complexity area
• High cooperation ability; Good communication skills; Creative problem solving; Good organisational skills; Flexibility
• Comprehensive market knowledge in the field of optical and scientific space instruments and payloads; Customer access and acceptance
