in "Investigating the contribution of auto-reactive T cells to the chronification of psoriais"Job description:
The Doctoral Fellow will focus on psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin diseases caused by a complex interplay between genetic predisposition, immune responses against environmental stimuli and putative antigens as well as tissue-specific immune responses. The Doctoral Fellow will be working in an interdisciplinary team of biologists, physicians and bioinformaticians in the framework of a highly prestigious research training group (RTG) “Immune Master Switches in Allergies and Autoimmune Diseases.” funded by the German Research Foundation. The Doctoral Fellow will decipher the role of newly identified putative auto-antigens in psoriasis in different mouse models.The project involves:
- Immunization of Rag2-deficient and knockout mice for the respective target followed by T cell transfer
- Working with various mouse models of psoriasis
- In-vitro assays and co-cultures with mast cells, dendritic cells, T lymphocytes and keratinocytes
- Characterization of murine tissue specimens via flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and PCR methods
Your qualifications
- Master of Science or equivalent
- Experience with biochemical, genetic and cell biological techniques
- Interest, motivation and scientific curiosity for inflammatory skin diseases and precision medicine.
- Commitment to scientific excellence and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience in communicating across discipline boundaries
- Fluency in spoken and written English
The following skills are considered advantageous:
- Understanding of immunology (preferably experience in an inflammatory skin disease)
- Experience with murine models
